Stuph Clothing opens Kids Against Hunger Orlando Satellite

Kids Against Hunger Orlando Central Satellite opened on November 2, 2009 and is now solely committed to providing food for the people of Haiti who have recently experienced perhaps the world’s most devastating natural disaster.

For the past two months the staff at Stuph Clothing have been packaging nearly 5,000 meals per week.  Every morning at 7:59 the staff gathers around the food packaging line and packages 864 meals.  This short “team building” exercise allows us to ground ourselves as to the needs of the entire world, and more importantly to our mission of leveraging our resources to change this world.

We package highly nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children and malnourished children and their families in Haiti. The goal of the organization is for its meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipient families can move their families from starvation to self-sufficiency. Kids Against Hunger accomplishes this by mobilizing the energy and caring of American children, teens, and adults on behalf of hungry children around the world. Kids Against Hunger seeks to end the literal hunger of children receiving the meals, but also satisfies a hunger among prosperous Americans – a hunger for meaning and contribution.

On Thursday January 14, 2009 the nearly 40,000 meals that we have packaged in the last two months were sent to Fort Pierece, FL to board a flight to the relief efforts in Haiti.  This first relief shipment was co-ordinated through Dusty Cooper and  Islego Missions  (www.islego.com).  Shortly after our first shipments left the Stuph Clothing/KAH offices we ordered enough ingredients to package another 500,000 meals in the next few weeks.
