Evans High School students send 11,664 meals to Haiti

For many of the students of Evans High School the devastation of the January earthquake in Haiti hit very close to home. With the largest Haitian population in Florida, 37% of the students had family members who were directly affected by the earthquake and its devastation. On early day approximately 70 students stayed after school and rallied together under the direction of teacher Lynne Newsome to package 11,664 meals. They exceed their goal by 1,664! It was great to see students in action, literally changing the world.
